Her research focuses on applied theatre as self-actualization and self-determination and has presented at conferences both nationally and internationally: including the Pedagogy and Theatre of the Oppressed Conference, University of California, Berkeley and Australian conferences such as the Community Identity and Displacement Network seminars as well as the Cultural Space, Theatricality and the performance of Asia in Australia Conference. For the last year Tania has been working with RISE and NMIT to develop a series of Forum Theatre workshops with students who are recent migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.

Her first international arts residency took place in October 2013, where she worked in Northern Ireland with internationally renowned community theatre practitioner Hector Aristizábal (Founder and Artistic Director of ImaginAction) in collaboration with Playhouse from Derry. The residency investigated the use of theatre for social change in Northern Ireland and involved working in two operational prisons, a youth and an LGBT community group. (more information HERE)
